Readers Advisory Tools:

Readers Advisory tools are those resources that might just help you find your next favorite book. There are some free web resources that will give you basic reading lists based on the title or author of a book. Other resources allow you to search by topics and genres. Here are a few resources:

What Should I Read Next
Enter a book you like and the site will analyse our database of real readers' favourite books (over 65,000 and growing) to suggest what you could read next. You can also register and build your own favourites list that helps give you a better match.

NoveList
This is a database that we subscribe to through EBSCO which can be used to search by topic or genre as well as author and title. This resource gives the user more options to narrow down results based on specific characteristics they like about a particlar book.
Book Awards:

Looking at lists of books that have won awards is one way to find books to read. Here is a list of some of the awards around the world that focus on Young Adult books or those books that are appropriate for young adults.

Best Books for Young Adults
The Best Books for Young Adults committee each year selects and annotates a list of significant adult and young adult books, as well as chooses a list of top ten titles from the full list. It is a general list of fiction and nonfiction titles selected for their proven or potential appeal to the personal reading tastes of the young adult.
